Being a MOM

Father's Day 2002, was a day that changed my life forever!!! (For the Best!!!!)

That was when I found out I was pregnant, going to be a MOM. I was so gald, but I wish I had half an idea at that time what kind of life was ahead for me...

January 27, 2003..regular perinantologist visit (if that can be regular), they said my Blood Pressure was up. Still to this day I dont think it was. They called my doc, he came to visit, and said 'Come see me Wednesday...1:30'. So I was there when he told me the good news!!! You are going to have a baby on Friday!!!! Ok....was not prepared for that, I still had 2 weeks.

So Friday Jan 31, it was time. In the hospital, got induced, and had a pretty easy labor & delivery....had issues after the fact, but nothing more drugs and an extra day on the L & D floor would not cure...At 3:39pm, I was officially a mom....With my wonderful husband at my side, we now had a little human. When he was handed to me all swaddled in a little blanket, there was this most powerful little 7 pound 11 ounce being that was going to have an impact like I never imagined!

Fast-forward to TODAY!!!!

4 years later....there has been more tears of joy than I ever thought I had in me, I have walked my floor more than a hundred miles consoling him at night or when he was sick, have slept less, and had so much excitement in my heart I thought it was going to explode. What makes the little men so much more pleasant than the big ones...Even in the morning their 'morning breath' smells better, they say I Love You umprompted....and more than once....their hugs have meaning....their kisses really are SWEET!! And as a woman as selfish as this will sound....You CAN train them wipe the seat AND put it down!!!! And when you are barely awake and laying in bed and you feel them crawl into bed and cuddle you ..... you KNOW that is all they want....
The road I am traveling has been traveled many times before and will be traveled many times when my journey has ended. I have not gotten very far, I can still see the Starting Line. But, I look forward to the journey that is ahead of me, all the good times and bad...after all he is MY son!!!

Being a Mom is so much more that I ever thought it would be, and I am more than Blessed to have the little Angel I have.....On that note, I need to thank Dad...he had a little to do with it.....
