Father's Day

No, I did not blog for Mother's Day...well I don't think I did anyways.....

For all the Daddy's out there, which is what today should be called, we salute you. Thanks to all of you for the sacrifices you make. I know I can be pretty hard on Ray for not seeing something that needs to be done and just doing it the way I would. And I am continually reminding myself, 'Dads are wired different than Moms!' But after (almost) 10 yrs of marriage I am getting there. Dads, in most cases are the bread winners, working sometime 60+ hrs a week and still wanting to be there to tuck the kids in at night. In most cases it is the mom who leaves work for doctor appointments and sick kiddos, and it is our side of the bed that has a rut wore in the carpet from the nightmares, and 'I cant sleep'. I am very luck for my son having such a great dad, and that I have such an awesome guy as a team mate in this job of parenting.

But what about the other Daddy....the single Daddy, who has to be both Mom & Dad, I know a lot of single moms and they are great with their kids, and filling the role of mom & dad. But I don't know a whole lot of single Dads. But the ones I do know are great. Maybe they are the unsung hero's...if a dad is raising a boy, no problem, there are some things, the boy will miss getting from a female role model, but if he is raising a daughter, he is facing a challenge, but they do it. They love there daughters unconditionally and teach them right from wrong...and one thing the little girls will not recognize until later in life is that....who their daddy is....that is the type of guy to go after.

I met a really neat guy on the train the other day. He was on a trip this weekend with his 10 yr old son, the boys first trip to Texas. Watching them prepare for the day and weekend of events was neat. It is nice to know that even for those people you don't know...you can see the good Daddy they are.

My hats off to all the Dads out there. Have a wonderful day, get extra hugs & kisses today.

For the group of Dads who, well their Angels are watching them, a special prayer goes out to you. You are getting bright eyes watching you and unconditional love from them everyday.
