Logan is Growing up

On Saturday 12/27/08, we were out and about, I looked at Logan and said COME HERE KID!!!!
Well, one of his teeth on the bottom looked crooked so i touched it and it was fine, but the one to the right of it....IS LOOSE!!!!! He is so excited about his 1st loose tooth!
He has been wiggling it and playing with it. So I am sure it will be out with in the week!
Does any one know what teeth are going for the days? I mean with the ecomomy and inflation that Tooth Fairy had to have a price increase!

Holiday in the Park

Holiday in the Park

We went to Six Flags last night, to Holiday in the Park, we just love it.
Logan is still a hair to little to ride some of the rides he wants to ride, but he still had a blast. While in Looney Tunes Land they have a Santa Village set up, it is a neat little place for the kids. We met a girl while in line for the bumper cars. Cute little girl who is 5 and her name is Makenzie...I find that neat...who knows why?
Anyways, the kids sang Karoke together....E if that is not spelled right, I guess you need to school me on it. I uploaded a video of the kids signing Rudolph, they had fun.
Hope you enjoy it, there is also a video I did last Christmas of him Wishing You a Merry Christmas.
Great Christmas wishes to all!!!

Championship Game

So today was the day. The Vikings played the Bobcats at the UTA Maverick Satudium. It was awesome! We could not have asked for a better game out of these boys!
We met a little while before the game started decorated the cars, and caravaned to the stadium. Once we got there and got organized, we lined up, and headed for the field. Potty break first....you learn this with 5 yr olds! Then off we went. We entered the field and sat down, watching the other teams get there trophies while we waited for directions on what to do.
We took the field, warmed up a little, the weather was perfect for the game today. One of my kids dad sat up in the press box, being a 'spotter' to help the announcer. They intorduced the cheerleaders that came. They were from the 2nd grade team. It was fun. Then they introduced our boys one by one calling their number and name! They ate it up. I sent up the captains for the coin toss....2 & 5, OF COURSE the Coaches Kids!! Coach Mike went up with them. We started with posession of the ball. It took 2 downs and then we got it together! My boys looked good. We scored, did not get the extra point, but then they answered right back! We kept the game tied. We went in to half time it was tied up 19 all.
2nd half we started on defense, we held them for 4 downs before they scored. Then the extra point. 26 -19 Bobcats! But we got the ball and scored, on the 2nd down, then one of my boys ran the longest 2 point conversion in flag history I think. So we answered back 26 all. With 2 minutes left in the game, the Bobcats had the ball, and they scored, after 2 downs, and that was the GAME!!!!! So the final was 32-26. We did not keep score all year, but we only lost 2 regular season games, and we kept this one close.
So once the game ended, I got to annouce all my boys and give them trophies, it was great. Then I introduced the best asst coach I could have. Coach Mike did such a wonderful job it was unreal! I will be coaching the 1st graders next year, and Mike will be coaching the PreK-K kids. We have agreed to share practice field but that is it. I can wait to get to do this again.
Once I was done announcing the boys, I was given a trophy, and the GAME BALL!! That was cool!
I want to thank all of the family & friends who came out so early this morning to support the kids. Thanks....and to my husband, who helped me more than he knows with this. He was a great supporter for me and Logan. My team mom was the best, she did a wonderful job, and for the moms & dads who were out at practices, every time we had them and gave the encouragement & support to their kids to succeed!
Also a special THANKS to Mr. Dave. He did a video of our game, so all of us parents will have an awesome professional video of our kids at this game!! And THANKS to Coach Mike for making it happen!

My Journey Part 1

For those of you who do not know, I have decided to take the steps necessary to get the LAP-BAND Procedure done. Before you ask, YES I have done my research, Ray is 110% with me on this, and we are aware of the life-style change this will be.
I had contacted a doctors office about 2 weeks ago, and set up some appiontments. Then I talked with a lady who I know that had it done, she had gone thru a company called True Results. She raved about the service she got from the people and the surgeon. She has been so happy with her band and everything, so I cantacted them. I made an appointment for 9:00am Friday Nov 21. I was very excited about this. So I had done my reasearch and knew what the insurance expected and covered.
I went in to the office and got taken right in. The first words out of this ladies mouth was....This procedure is excluded you have not coverage so we can talk financing....Needless to say I went through the ROOF. After I demanded she contact my insurance AGAIN, she told me what I already knew. Then asked me why I did tell the call center person it was Medically Necessary....DO I HAVE MD AFTER MY NAME? Anyways... So I started everything and got to the end. Did not care for the PA at all, but I am not a fan of them. After an hour 45 in the place where it was only suppose to be 1 hr, I left very unsatified and mad. After a phone call later in the day, and I checked my email it was all taken care of. This is what happended:
True Results is just a liason to go beteween the patient and doctor. They can not really answer any questions, it is for surgeons who do not do the 'One-Stop-Shop'. Also my insuracance requires the place doing the procedure is a (COE) 'Center of Expertise or Excellence' ...What is that. I could not find out. So this lady calls me back and tells me their center or their doctors are NOT covered by my insurance, but she did email me some information. I think she was really relieved knowing I would not be dealing with them.
So a COE is a **Hospital. **has been doing the procedure for 12 mo with low complication rate, **requires that after the 2 yr check up 90% of the patients have lost 50% of targeted weight. There are 6 locations in the aarea that are COE, and I think I have already found a doctor. I will contact them on Monday. Thankfully I do not have a waiting period so once all the other requirements are met, I will be able to go on with the procedure. I will keep you posted.

More Stuff

WOW!!! This has been a BUSY day already and it is onle 1:00!
Ray had to work today so I was with out help at the game. But Holly stepped up and video taped the game for me...she is a life saver! We played the Titans, it was a great game. This week the officials has started calling penalities ! So needless to say my boys had to be on their BEST!!! And one of my best flag pullers was not able to keep his feet on the ground, so he gave up about 20 yards. But that is okay. We had a wonderful time.
Once the game was over, Holly, Logan, & I went to Chick-fil-a for a bite, it was nice sitting and talking, and not being rushed ! We had a good talk. Logan ate then he played in the play area, and got a bloody nose! But he got over it pretty quick. SO we wrapped up there then off to the dr officer for the dreaded FLU SHOT!!! WE were there early...so we got in early...talk about an ISSUE!!! It took me, another nurse, and the one giving him the shot to HOLD HIM DOWN!!! All I have to say is WTF!!! What has happened to my boy? He use to not be bothered. I think it has something to do with staple he got back in March...that was pretty tramatic for him.
So then we went to see the UTA Maverick Stadium where my team will play in a few weeks. He got really excited about that. Now to the house to rest before we go get dad and go to Quinland to get the trucks timing fixed. But wait the Courthouse is opened for Early Voting. I have not been able to get away from work this week to do it...but we took advantage of it. I got my vote in. (Karen I am with you...get it over with) Logan was able to vote on Nick.com (Kids Pick the President) so he was excited about going in with me while I voted. We both voted the same way, and his candidate won on Nick so we will see if mine wins too!
Now is it 1:30, I have to leave in about 30-45 min to get to Dallas in time and then head East. I have gotten some cleaning done. not as much as I would have liked but hey I have caught all of you up on my world....so something was accomplished!

What's up in My World

It is Sunday the 19th, 10 days since my last blog...my world has been crazy!!!
At work I have accomplished lots of things that have been put on to me complete so that has been good. But STRESSFUL!!! Hopefully all of my work will be right and over the next few months there will be positive outcome from that.
At home...it has been crazy, I have been so wore out I have not wanted to do anything SO needless to say what my house looks like...Let's just say unexpected copmpany will NOT be allowed in!
Now FOOTBALL!!! Since this have become such a big part of my life and I am enjoying every minute of it. We had to sell Stock Shares, a fund raiser, to help raise money for the program. Well since in the PreK/Kinder & 1st Grade divisons standings are not kept they take the top two stock share selling teams and they get to play the same day as the Championship Games at the UTA Maverick Stadium! We found out on the 10th that we were in 2nd place; and since my Asst Coach was not at practice that night I had to hold in the good news until Saturday morn. The boys are excited and are us Coaches. We had our third game yesterday. Our boys are really pulling it together as a team. We had possession of the ball 5 times and scored on 4 of those along with making 3 2pt conversions. We were able to hold them off 2 of there 4 possessions. It was a good game. The coach we great and the boys played hard.
The team we will be playing in the Championship game we do not play in Regular Season, and one of the Cheerleaders for that team Logan played Soccer with, and her dad was the coach. So that was neat seeing them yesterday. Althougt I do find it interesting one of the teams we have already played...is a little upset that he is not playing in the stadium, but a GIRL is...that makes me laugh inside. So win or lose, as long as my guys have a great time that is all that matters!!!!
Since I have been in bed sick most of the day this blog has taken what little bit of energy I had. I am going to go finish my sno-cone, take more benadryl & tylenol, shoot nasty nasal spray up my nose and then go to bed so I can be ready for Monday. I have to get up earlier than ususal to make a breakfast casserole for an birthday at work. She is 75!!!! So we are going to make it special for her.

Goings On

Well since my last posting we have played our second football game. The out come was not as good. But that is another story! Logs had a great week at school, we had team pictures taken, and ended our raffle ticket sales.
The game - we played a team I would rather not mention. But it was Flag football rules of another world or something. But it is all a learning experience. These boys are 5-6 years old. They are here to have fun. Either one of us, me or the asst coach are not trying to live our dreams through our kids. So we are just making sure the boys have a good time. Logs got is mouth busted, so he is 2 for 2 with games and injuries! They had 3 of their kids come off the field crying and hurt...But anyways....As long as my team has a good time that is all that matters!
On Sunday we took the team pictures. All the boys looked so good, and proud. Then after the pictures we went to Terrell for Dad's surprise bday party. it was a good time. He was surprised so that was accomplished. We left Terrell and went to Quinlan, then home. It was a long day!
3-Day weekend coming up. We have a bye this week so no game but we will practice, then after that we are going to help Lisa move. I think we did this a year ago....I think we would find much funnier annual rituals!
Then rest on Sunday and to the State Fair of Texas on Monday! Yeah I a looking so forward to that! This year we are going with Tina & Jared. As long as I get my Mueller Sasuage I will be fine!!!!

Our First Game

Our First Game!
Yeah!!! Ok at the Flag level in Pre-K/Kinder, standings are not kept. But we WON the game, it was 26-22!!!! I have posted some pics, Friends only!
The boys did a wonderful job! One kid just joined the team LAST NIGHT and he did great too. We may not have 4 coaches, names for Offense & Defense teams, or special names for our plays. But our boys played hard today.
We go back to practice Tuesday and will work more on our weaknesses.
We will work on Team Work.
We will work on staying focused.
And try to keep all of them fired up for the next several games!

Updates

So Saturday Morning 5:34am, I am up...We have practice in 2 1/2 hrs. I am running through last nights practice in my head and thinking 'what can we do different?' Wait let me back up!!!!
Monday my mom & dad came in town, and we had dinner it was a nice surprise since we dont see them alot due to the work shcdules. I also found out I would have the schedule Tuesday, & we also had a Bye this week. Which means we get the week off. So we are practicing at what would be regular game time on Saturday.
Tuesday practice, it went good. We are learnign by trail and error, and what we need to focus on. I think the boys are doing great. They are all trying really hard and that is rewarding for all involved. Lisa came out & surprised me. It was nice having her & Ray there. Since our games are so early, I am not sure she will make them. So the practice was grat for her to show up.
Wednesday...I got to come home after work and spend some time with Ray & Logan, we all cooked dinner that was really nice!
Thursday...I dont think I stopped until 9:00, I was suppose to attend a baby shower after work in Bedford, but had to cancel due to practce, but we moved practice to Friday, I had a meeting to attend at the school at 6:00, then I had to drive back to downtown and pick up football uniforms, this took longer than I thought...I had never done it so I had no idea what to expect. It was 8:15 before I got home, as I was walking the door the guys were going to bed...
YEAH!!! Friday....We had practice last night, played 'mock games' put 1/2 the kids in white tanks to have 2 teams to try running plays. They are showing improvement already. The Team Mom got the drink/snack schedule all worked out for the games. That is a huge help. We are going to ask about an end of season party.
So this brings me to today....I have been up since 4 putting things in my mind of what to work on today....how to get all 12 heads in the game at one time. I have confidence in us we can do it. So is this getting in my blood. As soon as we get in the truck I as Ray. So what do you think? How are we doing? Maybe it is in my mind more being Coach Momma, and not just mom watching her son. I would not change this time for anything. Logan is having fun, and doing pretty good about seperating Mom from Coach. I cant wait until next Saturday for the 1st game!
I am going to try to get some pictures at practice and post.
I want to thank all of you who have shown support for me doing this, weather it is you cards in the mail - yes I got it, and Logan loves 'his' football card - your kind words of support, coming to practice, coming to the games, or even buying raffle tickets to help my boys get to play in the Carmichael Game at the UTA Maverick Staduim. Thanks again...Oh and thanks to my Cheerleader at work...you lead them all good or bad, I will pull the positive energy from you!!! Evil will turn to good.

Crazy-Ness

So this week has been nuts, with work, football, Logan having some behavioral issues, and LIFE...it has been insane.
I am beat...this will be a long football season. I know when it comes down to it I will be glad I did this, and if i do it next year then I may have a chance ot have things more organized. But right now it is crazy.
I posted a new album titled Scrapbooking. I put pics of the pages I have done. It is fun. But my DAMN CAMERA flash is out so the pictures are not that wonderful...thank goodness for editing ability.
Let me know what you think!

Just Call Me *****

So it all started with a phone call Friday Night. As crazy things usually do.
Hey we don't have a coach for the football team so we are looking for volunteers…Does anyone see where this is going???
So Saturday morning, I went to the Hut and signed up to be an Optimist with the Optimist Club of Arlington, not really sure what that all means, but it also means I can sign up to be involved with the kids. So I also filled out the form to be COACH!!!
Fastforward to Monday, (today), I got the call about 10:20am, it is official. I am the Head Coach of the Flag Football Team. NowI am going to preface the season right now...I am not going to be posting any team info. If you know me then you know the team we are. I will only be listing game times. Sorry folks too many crazies out there and too many babies to protect. I will not be posting any pics of other kids either.
I am excited about this new venture. Scared, but excited. Just keep in your prayers and thoughts. Oh yeah I will be working with 4-5 yr olds!

End of the 1st Week & Roadtrip

Logan made it thru his 1st week of school with FLYING COLORS!!!! He did so good, 5 Stars, and NO BAD NOTES!!! He is really excited about going back on Tuesday. He really loves his teacher. So it is all good. Although he keeps saying to us he has not learned anything! So the old saying is true...you can send a kid to school but you cant make him learn!
We decided since Ray has to work on Monday we would take a little roadtrip today. So off we went. We decided to head to Dublin and get some Dr Peppers. As we were going down 377 we stopped at the Pate Transportation Mesuem, it has some old cars, and plans and stuff, Logs enjoyed it. Back on the Roadtrip - Destination Dublin. We stopped in Granbury, met with a friend from work to get some eatery ideas. We chose a place called LaFiesta, it was really good, not as good at Bigotes, but close. We went to Dublin, I had a float and my jerks had Soda Jerks..HAHAHA!!! 4 cases later (2 for us 2 for inlaws) we are back on the road again. Going home we go thru Hico, something about the last resting place of Billy the Kid. Okay whatever?
Stopped at this cholocate selling place we have seen in the past, tried a truffle it was good....but for $34.00 a pound not that good. We came into Glen Rose but Dinosaur Valley State Park, they have a new attraction out there but it was closed for the day so we will go back again.
For anyone who knows us, when we go on a Roadtrip we usually end up off the beaten path, this time we found a neat place in Glen Rose called Big Rock Park. That is just what it was..there were HUGE ROCKS everywhere for you to explore, and the river went thru it, so we took off our shoes and wadded in the water a little.
We got back on the road and headed home, Logan was not wanting to do that, but we had to. I have noticed his fits are not nearly at 'bad' as they use to be, he gets over it a lot quicker now. Thanks school!
We stopped at Target and got some dog food, they apperciated that, and the got some sandwiches from Subway - Eat Fresh! Ate some dinner...way to late at night, now is it time to surf the net some and then go to bed.
Since we played today, it is all work tomorrow. mow the grass, do laundry, and work on the cars. We are going to be ready for bed tomorrow night. But since Ray has to work and Logan and I are off, we will be sleeing in, and doing NOTHING on Monday!!!

This Hurricane Thing

(Let me preface this by saying if you get offened by my OPINIONS stop reading here)

Gustav - Catagory 4 Hurricane heading to New Orleans (as of 08/30/08 10:00pm news). Has anyone else been following the evac reports coming our of New Orleans? I mean really this is top page news, just as it was 2 yrs ago, but that was for a different reason! NO ONE WOULD LEAVE!!!! Come on everyone had Hurricane Parties until the levee broke, and now they are doing mandatory evacs. Who are the people going to blame everything on this time? Who will be to blame when they loose it all? What happens to those who dont leave? Has anyone asked....Why New Orleans? Why this soon?
I have never been so I can not personally comment on the city, but from all the reports from Katrina, and showing how they were rebuilding, it still looked pretty nasty!
I guess only time will tell. They are estimating it may be a Catagory 5 by land fall on Monday, and it may even remain a tropical depression and make it way to North Texas. Yeah we will get rain.
But lets ask ourselves, if you lived somewhere that was ravished by Mother Nature, would you consider moving. I mean honestly, you could possibly get a better job elsewhere...you are starting all over anyways! But I guess if you move you dont get all the government money!
Also the gas prices, when we filled up this morning on our way out of town.. 3.29 a gallon coming back in tonight 3.37, what is it going to be this time next week????
The Republican National Convention - GO John McCain.. you have already chosen a woman as a running mate to get the female vote, and now you what to postpone the RNC to play the sympthay vote. He is going to do what ever he can to get attention. Have the convention and seem cold hearted to what is going on with the Hurricane Gustav or dont have the convention and make it seem like you care! What are the election rules??? Can he do this. I mean do the conventions have to be held a certian amount of time BEFORE the election?? Would the general election be postponed?
Okay I got this off my chest. Tell me your thoughts and feelings about this!!!

It Went Great

For all of those who were wondering....Yes I cried!!! BUT not until I was in the car, driving off.
He was so excited this morning. I really thought that little human body was going to implode. He got dressed, and was ready to go out the door. We got to school, he paid for his lunches...in the modern world kids have to learn a code to pay for there lunches, and they do not carry lunch money any more. So then it was off to the classroom. He had only been once and remembered where it was at.
The very end of the Kindergarten hall, we followed him, he walked in put his back pack in locker found his table and sat down. I dont think he cared that we left.
But I was able to go to work and work 1/2 a day today so I was not a mess for those of you betting the obvious. We will pick him up about 4:45-5:00 after he is in the afterschool program. I want to make sure he goes thru the motions today so I may not worry as bad tomorrow.
He is eating breakfast at school tomorrow, so this is a new adventure.
Check out some pictures in the album '1st Day of School'...my flash has gone out on my camera so they are not that great...ALSO...I was irrate about that this morning so I am sure that had a little to do with the lack of tears..but I will be taking him alone tomorrow so we will see.

Vacation the 'Rest' of the Week

Vacation the rest of the week
So after we got a little rest on Monday, it was off to the doctor. I just adore my foot doctor he is really good. The X-Rays said the foot is still broken, but I can wear and walk in the boot for 2 weeks, then in to the tennies shoes, I go back on Oct 20 if I feel like I need to be seen again! If not then I am free. He is really confused how it can still be broke and not giving me any pain. He said I could be a poster child, at least it is for something positive!!! But with the rain and all this week I have been wearing my shoes and not having any problems, pain or swelling. The arch of my foot hurts some since I have not had any support there.
Off to my brothers to visit with them for a while, they had just gotten back form vacation too so we had some good stories and the boys got to play together. It was fun!
Home, dinner, & the Olympics. WHY does vacation make you so tired?? Cant really recall what we did Tuesday...wait we bought Logan's school uniform pants, and went to the grocery store, good times were had by all.
Wednesday, we went to Waxahachie to have lunch with some work peeps. It was fun, and a nice visit, we then drove around Waxahachie looked at houses and stuff. Off to Ennis, back to the scene of the crime. We watched Star Wars - The Clone Wars. It was so cute, Logan was glued to the screen. We started watching Journey to the Center of the Earth...he was OUT!!! So we stayed for a little while then came home...it is so much harded since we are older to be out so late.
Thursday...up at 7:00am....WTF!!!! Every Gosh Dang Day I woke up early....AGUH!!!! So we never left the house or the recliners, I cooked b-fast about 930, and by 11:00 we were napping. We slept until 3:30...Meet the Teacher at 5:00. I am so looking forward to this. Get up and get going!!! To the school we go. Ms Taylor, she is 2nd yr, and I think ready for the challange that is my son! He did not want to leave. He is really excited. I think I am having MAJOR anxiety over this. I did not sleep Thursday night....
Friday..GATS here we come. This is the annual Big Truck show, Great American Truck Show. Logan loves it. He was asking ALL WEEK! So we got bags of goodies and we got to see in some nice trucks. Ray's boss was out there so I got to meet him. He is a really nice guy. Dinner with the in-laws, and now at 9:55 we are fighting with Logan to go to sleep he has been in bed for almost an hour!
2 more days of vacation left....2 more days before I have to send my baby off to school. Will I cry? Probably! Am I going to miss him so much? Yes I will!! I can only hope I have given him the tools to face this day with courage, and a positive attitude. He does seem as though he likes his teacher. So that is a major plus!

2 More Days!!!

2 More Days!!!
Anxiety is setting in. Nerves are getting the best of me. I am usually pretty good about things not bothering me. But this school thing completely different. I think going to bed at night will be his biggest issue. I have always let him stay up until I have gone to bed. But now he has to go to bed before me. Maybe by the 2nd week of school he will not give me such a fit...but really the 2nd week of school starts with a Holiday, then one in Oct, a few more in Nov, and 1/2 of December off. How did we do it as kids, everytime you turn around another Holiday or reason to be out of school. But I am going to be okay. As long as he is I think it will all work out fine.
Be prepared for random thoughts over the next 96 hours!!!

First Trip to the Panhandle

WOW!!!! We had a blast this weekend.
Let me start by saying...Karen I did not read your blog before posting this one...it is 1:00am, and I want to read it but I am posting first!!
As I stated in my previous Blog it was spur of the moment! And worth every moment of it. We headed out about 8:00am Saturday morn. It is a 6 hr (+/-) drive to Amarillo, pending you don't have to make potty breaks and drink breaks...Oh yeah then the issues with the truck...but that is another blog all together. We were hoping to be in my 2:00(ish) we made it at 3:10, and met some friends at the Big Texas Steakhouse...This is one of those places that if you eat a 72 oz steak with all the sides in one hour it is free....Do these people realize this is 4 1/2 POUNDS of red meat...ok the gag reflex is kicking in.

So we get to the restuarant...it is a neat tourist attraction. If you ever go to Amarillo you will see it...We took some pics and waited for Karen & Clay to show up. I have know Clay for 20 yrs, and met Karen here...But we had never met in person. So as we are taking pictures I see them from afar, we meet up and then inside to eat. There was a guy there taking the 72 oz challange...GAG GAG!!!! He had about 4 minutes left and it was obvious he gave up. When the timer went off, the waiter weights what was left, he had eaten 68 oz...you know at that point what is 4 more ounces??

So after dinner and everyone getting 'to know' everyone we checked in to the hotel, then went to Cadillac Ranch...it was neat. Logan is really in to Route 66 since the movie Cars...incase you dont know it .... in the town Radiator Springs all the buildings are replicaed after building along the Original Mother Road. It was really neat. There was lots of mud, I guess it never rains in Amarillo until we decided to visit. We did not spray paint the cars, but we got some pictures and video. So after we left there we went to Clay & Karen's house...on the OTHER SIDE OF TOWN!!!
This was an adventure....Has anyone met my son???? Have you also heard of the expression 'A Bull in a China Shop'??? We visited for 2 hrs, and I think said his name more in 2 hrs than I have in the last 18 months!!!! Not that he was 'bad' but he was busy...it was 6:30 pm, and he had been in the car most of the day...Oh for those of you who dont know him.. He has never met a stranger, will talk your ear off...and WILL make himself at home in your house. WAIT....They have 2 cats, One really smart...it went and hid...the other not so much...Charlie wanted in investigate the little human..Logan does not understand Cats, so he had no idea why Charlie would not come to him the FIFTY MILLION TIMES HE WAS CALLED. So we made lunch plans for Sunday, and off we went. After some outside time were Logan tried to terriorize Clay. Did it work?

We ended the night with a swim in the hot tub, and the pool, and a bloody nose...Not good. It was about 10:30 when we all crashed, and I was up at 7:15 this morning.

To the Sushi & Habiachi place. I have no one to eat Sushi with so this was a treat for me. I dont know what all was ordered but it was great....I bearly had room for my habachi. At dinner Logan did more terriorizing and entertaining...

Off to Palo Dura Canyon...Now Karen & Clay have lived in Amarillo for 5 yrs...they had never been. So they came with us...it was great. But due to the weather they were evacuating the campers due to flooding. (Side Note - the Grand Canyon is Flooding too). We had accomplished what we went for. We followed them to a gas station, fueled up, got drink and snacks. Off we go...

Friends!!!

You never know who is going to come into your life!
I have been very lucky over the years, there have been people who have come and gone, but lately I have discovered that I am very Blessed with some of the people who have come into my life.
SO here is a look at my nearest & dearest friends that I am lucky enough to be in contact with everday. Let me start off by saying it has not been until the last few years I have been comfortable enough in my own life to be close to other females...as we know we can be Double Barreled BItches at times!
My Holly, just shy of 9 years, I met her 1 week after I met my husband, and they have both been by me through some pretty rough times. We dont see each other everyday, but be talk, email or im everyday. I trust her with my deepest thoughts and feelings. And we know we are strong enough to be honest with each other. It takes alot to have a say anything relationship with a friend but I have that with Hol and I pray I always will. She has helped me more than she knows and at times I do not feel as though I can give her the Thanks she deserves. I know there is no way I can ever thank for being there for me in the hospital Feb 2, 2008. I knew I could trust her to follow through with things that needed to be taken care of for Logan's Party. She knows how anal I am and she can deal with it. I just hope we keep our friendship how we are, and just continue to be there for each other.
Erica, she is THAT friend. We have been together for 6 years, We started working together when I was pregnant with Logan. WOW working with someone you know you go thru some CRAP!!!! But we dont mix personal with professional, we know where to draw the line. She keeps me in stitches. I can not be mad at her, and she is good at reading my mind, I have been around her for 2 of her pregnancies, and have loved every minute of it - except for the time she was off...I think she took longer than she should have! We dont hang out that much outside of work, that sucks. But dang the time we do hang out.....we have a blast. There are days I look so forward to talking to her, she is always good at bringing me up; and keeping me there. She is also so good at NOT letting me get to big headed. She never lets me forget my boo-boos or when I call someone BABE....
Lisa...Lisa...Lisa....What is there to say...Her mom even says it is scary how much alike we are. Lisa came into my life 3 years ago, they have been an eventful 3 years. We have been through medical issues, strokes, miscarriages, and LIFE together. Like Holly, Lisa and I dont see each other every day but we do communicate everyday. She is great for me, she helps me stay grounded, and keeps my in line, because of what she has been through, I have learned to not take life for granite, The one day I did not talk to her because I had a headeache was a day she needed me. But by lots of prayers she got through it and is here to keep us ROFLMA for a long tome to come!
All of them, as much as they dont know it help me more that I know how to show. I try to not unload on anyone, and burden people with my problems and issues, but all of them care and know when I am hurting or in need. They each hold a special place in my heart, and I can honestly say I love each of them for all the positive things they have brought to my life.

That one Friend?!?!?!?

So lets talk about that ONE friend..
You know the one who YOU can not satisfy! The one YOU are not good enough for! The one YOU just dont get.
I have ONE of them....She knows who she is. She likes to be the thorn in my side, the eyelash in my eye...and even that itchy butt crack when you are in a crowded room.
I think she likes playing mind games with me. I think she likes being in my head...I have enough voices. I dont need her in there milling around looking for something else to hang over my head....like the time Missie fell!
She knows who she is. I feel like she is mt Brokeback Mountain.....I CANT QUIT YOU!!! That is how she makes me feel. She knew this was coming....I hope she likes how i blogged her....

So has proven she is a great friend to me and really cares about my well being. I also know she is interested in Booby Crocker goodies....but she is TAKING GREAT CARE OF ME....She is the best friend one could ask for!!!

foot note.....i do not want anyone to think i was put up to posting this blog. i posted this on my own, i was in no way threaten with physically, emotional, or mental harm......

My Drama Continues!!!

So here goes...yet another Stupid is as Stupid does moment!!!

For those of you who don't know we have a drive in movie theater in Ennis (Garrett) off of I-45, well we like to go out there, and Logan just loves it. So here goes the rest of the story!
We went on the spur of the moment last weekend to see Journey to the Center of the Earth & Wall*E, they were both good movies. We got there right at Journey was starting, and I decided I would make the 1st Concession stand run...I have to use the facilities as well. So if anyone has ever been to a drive in you know they have little fences that divide the 'theaters'. As I stepped over the little rail, my right foot made it fine, but the left foot that was a different story! I hit it on the license plate of the vehicle that was sitting on the left side of the rail. Well I noticed I had cut my toe, so I cleaned it up. As I waited in line, I got very neasuated. When I got back to the car it was already starting to swell. I had a really bad feeling. But hell we were having fun why worry.

So I sat in the car watching the 2 movies, when it was time to go, I stood up and felt lots of pain and swelling. Since I had broken my right foot 2 yrs ago I had a good feeling I had done it again. Once we got home, I took some medicine, went to bed and proped up my foot to keep the swelling down. Well that worked until the next morning, when I got up to take a shower, and it swelled back up like a.....run over oppossim on a hot summer day. So off to CareNow we go! Have you ever been to one of these???? The doctors are the smartest people EVER!!!!
She comes in and says, well if it is just broken toe all we can do it Buddy Tape it...well DUH!!!! I told her I thought it was more than that...So off to X-Ray! NOW as I stated in a pervious blog about 'specialist' like these...Come on what you do is not rocket science, hang up the damn X-Ray, it is my foot, Either the bone is broken or it is not!! So the dr comes back in and says....well you have done more that broken the toe, you did it good....OK SO WHAT DID I DO????? What ever the problem is they 1 dont know it OR 2 arent sure...so the toe is broke, the foot bone has a hairline crack in it!!!

Now fastward to Wednesday...In Dr Wong's office, this is the greatest orthopedic dr in the WORLD! He is super. He is not worried about toe, BUT the 5th metatraxial bone is broken at the joint and I am pretty sure the hairline fracture is still there. Now if you recall....foot broken 2 yrs ago; I still have the necessary hardware! My orders . . Fruits, Veggies, more Dairy....get as much calcium from natural sources as possible. Wear the boot all the time except to shower, and a little rest in the evening. Oh yeah....BTW if you get the orders NWB mean Non Weight Bearing, so i have to use crutches too....THIS KEEPS GETTING BETTER!

In 6 weeks Logan starts Kindergarten, in 5 weeks are going on vacation...well we will be off work...I guess we will be looking into a Staycation since I have to be in the boot until AUGUST 30!!!! Oh yeah we also go to the Great American Truck show every year, so I will be doing that in a wheel chairor on crutches.

I do know from the last time I used Dr Wong. The man knows what he is talking about, so as much as I hate it...I will conform to the orders of the power that be. As long as I can be better with out surgery, and by the time Logan starts football.

I will keep you posted. Oh yeah...I am still working. Since it is my left foot I can still drive and I still have some freedom. But the ladies I work with are being so helpful, they make sure I have beverage, and lunch. They have gone above and beyond...Especially K-Wils...she is the best....But the other girl...I can not say who she is since she is in my top friends and ALWAYS reads my blogs..she has not been as helpful....I guess she will not be rewarded when BOBBY CROCKER bakes for those who have been most helpful.

Love Ya E!!

Just Call Me Forest....Forest Gump

Stupid is as Stupid Does!!!!!
That is all I am going to say about this weekend for me....I was so excited about having 3 days off...but I need another one to recoup.
I got the mother of all sunburns. There are pictures posted in My Photos.
I guess up kids never learn. But I think I may have. Ray had to get up at 2:00am to go get me vinegar....that is the only thing that has soothed it. Sleep...Cant do that. The back is worse than the legs look, and the heat that is coming off of this thing....I could cook a bird at 350 for 5-6 hrs with no problem.
Well the vinegar bath is calling...and I must rest for work tomorrow. AUGH!!!!!

New Tat!!!

I know it is not that big in size...but to me....it is really big.

I have wanted to do this for a while something with Logan's name on it. Ever since I lost the baby I decided I wanted to do this. I originally wanted a band of some sort, but I wanted to put it on my upper body instead of my lower body. So somewhere that it did not stand out was fine with me. It is on my back on the left shoulder blade. I saw some more of their work that I really like so I may be going back and getting another one....I may even be able to talk Ray into another one....But we will see.

Good News for Us!!!

Good News for US!!
For those of you who have known me for a while, you know that my beloved husband is a truckdriver. Well for the past 5+ years he has worked nightshift...Now when I say nightshift, I am not talking 4p-12p, I am talking a 12 hour shift from 3p-3a. So do the calculations, not a lot of family time, maybe 45 minutes in the morning before work and school, and then the weekends; if he has boht days off. He started back at this job 20 days before Logan was born, so this is the only schedule we have known.
Well on Wednesday the 26th he got put on Day Shift!!!! He goes in anywhere from 5-7a and is home by the time we get home in the evenings!! He is home for bathtime, dinner time, and bed time. This is so important to me for the fact that Logan is at a point where he really needs his daddy around him; and with school starting and he will be starting Football in the fall. This is just wonderful!!!
Oh yeah....He will still be of most all weekends, so that means family time on Saturday, and we care going to be able to get back in to the church!

Friday's Events

Friday’s Events
Well Friday the 7th was more like FRIDAY the 13th for me!!!
After much praying & push comes to shove we took Logan out of daycare! We were talking about it, but the decision was made much sooner for us. But that is another story.
So he will be staying with Nana, my MIL, through most of the summer until he starts school. So he was there Friday and I received a call at 4:50, he was screaming in the background. He was being a BOY jumping on the bed, with his cousin, and fell of the bed, hit the bedrail......and was in the Care Now clinic 35 minutes later!!! OH YEAH .....it took 3 of us to hold him down....and after 1/2 a bottle of topical numbbing solution he still had feeling in his head....he gets the hard head from his DAD!!
So for a boy being 5 I think a broke tooth, and 2 rounds of staples in the head is not bad!!! So we will get them out in a week....hopefully it will not take as many of us!!

Painful Thoughts & Feelings

So it has been about a month since I posted a blog, the last one was hard to post. So just an update....I am feeling fine, as a family we are doing great, physically I am fine, & mentally I am dealing with this all alot better.
I have found out some interesting things about my 'DR'....needless to say...I WILL NOT BE GOING BACK TO HIM.
He is the founder of The North Texas Church of Freethought.....take a look at the website....http://www.churchoffreethought.org/ find the section of the website titled Hannity & Colmes under the 'About Us' section
I understand that all people are entitled to their own opinion....but I guess while deciding what questions to ask your doctor...if it is important to you ask if he/she is a CHRISTIAN!!!!!!
I had my follow up appointment with him on Friday, (2/29) and found out this out afterwards. When he showed up at the office that day at 9:30am, his first appt got there at 8:30, he seemed very unorganized...anyways when he came in the room it was like it was his 1st time to see me....On my first appt after my miscarriage he offered me some antidepressants, I had never taken them and will never take them again. I emailed him 2 days after the appt, and told him about the adverse reaction to the pills and he said if I felt like I did not need them and was having the problems then I could stop taking them. Keep this in mind....so as he walked in the room he commented that I looked better and was glad the pills were working....HELLO I stopped taking them!!!! So as I reminded him about that he said...well if you need more just call us....So I was given Lexapro last time...wonder what he would give me this time....Then he went straight to getting my blood drawn and see ya later...oh yeah...am I allowed to partake in marital fun???? So I had to have him come back in the room to ask him that question...he said yes you have been on the pill for a month so it should be safe....My issue here 3 weeks ago he was talking about letting us know how long he would recommend me staying on the pill before trying again....he ended this with....See ya next year!!!!
Make better notes in your patients files. I will not be going back to this doctor, and would NOT recommend Timothy Gorski to any one!!!!

VERY IMPORTANT NEWS

VERY IMPORTANT NEWS!!!!!
This blog comes from me with a heavy heart!!! I want to say thanks to all of you for your thought and prayers.
On Friday night about midnight I woke up and was hemoraging pretty bad. I called my doctor office, but Dr Neil was on call, not my doctor so we made an executive decision. Ray and I went to the hospital about 1:00am. We were whisk away to an ER Room with in minutes of arriving. The ER Dr was great, once we got in the room, I continued to bleed, and the dr did a sonogram...He found a machine in the hall and brought it in and just did it. He said he was not a Sono Tech, but he had to do it. Once he was done, he stated he saw an empty sack. Then he turned to the nurse and told her to get ready for an exam.
He did an regular gyno exam to measure the amount of blood loss, at this point I realized that no matter how much preparing we had done over the week and a half it was completely different when the doctor started talking D & C.
So I guess I need to back up. Shortly after my inital appiontment on Jan 23, I started spotting, I saw the doctor the following Wednesday on Jan 30, we could not hear the heartbeat. We did not worry, he felt about 90% sure everything was fine, due to my 'extra padding' and not hearing Logan's until 16 weeks I was not worried either. Fast forward to Friday Feb 1, 2008.
Ray got a phone call at 10:30am he did not have to work that night, I was so glad. We went to Garland and picked up my nephew James and had dinner with him and Pete. I had some dicomfort, but just passed it off as sitting for so long, and wearing my jeans. We got home messed around with the boys and started getting ready for bed.
So back to the hospital, after the gyno exam a paramedic came in and started an IV...that is never good, ( Do you know the difference between a nurse and a paramedic??? The medic can do almost everything the dr can. See you do learn something new everyday!!) I asked for a drink and was told 'NO' that is not good either!!! So Lisa came up to the hospital she took the first shift at the hospital with Ray. A full Sonogram was ordered, and about 3:30am I was taken to an Ultrasound Room, and the tech started doing the sono....and 'I CAN'T TELL YOU ANYTHING SO DON'T ASK'...Those people really upset me!!!! So then she started doing an internal one....never had one...am not really looking forward to another one any time soon! Where Ray was sitting he could see the screen and did mention that he was not able to see anything on the internal one. By this time the bleeding had slowed down alot.
We got taken back to the ER and was put in a very nice room....ROOM 1...for once I was 1....the nurse and registration lady came in, it was about 4:30am and the doctor came back in. He said they had called in Dr Neil and that he had ordered a D & C. Now keep in mind Logan's 5th birthday party is 12 hours away!!! Dr Neil come in and he was super nice and supportive, he explained to me what was going to happend and I explained to him that I had to be at that party. We had a good understanding. I would be home by breakfast, and could go to the party as long as I got some rest, and did not do anything!
About 4:45am Ray and Lisa went outside to make phone calls, Ray called family, and Lisa called Holly, she was coming for the 2nd shift and to help get things going and settled in once we got home. About 5:15am, I was wheeled upstairs for surgery. It was about 5:30am, with Ray, Holly and Lisa saying their 'see ya in a bits'. The drug doctor came in explained to me what they were going to do as far as the medication. Other than on TV I had never seen the inside of an OR, it was kinda cool. I asked if I was going to have my eyes taped shut and he said 'Yes' he started to explain why, I looked back, and the next thing I knew Katrine the OR nurse was telling them not to put oven blankets on me...you know those HOT ones...the are warm...but i am too hot natured for that.
About 7:00am, Ray, Lisa & Holly were allowed to come into recovery. It was like the Twilight Zone....I was the only one there!!!! AUGH!!!! Dr Neil told Ray everything went great, and he gave Ray all the discharge directions. I was told as soon as I peed I could go home...so I had to go all of the sudden! I went to the bathroom, and was allowed to go. SO now the fun part getting dressed. I brought clean bottoms, but we had to catch Lisa on her way to the hospital to get me a shirt, my other one had blood all over it. So Ray is in the bathroom helping me get dressed, it took all had to not pass out. Anyone who know me knows I hate being down. So back in the wheel chair to my recovery area, to get some air and color back in my face!
Ray and Holly went to get the cars by the door, and Lisa went home to get some rest. As Dr Neil promised I was home before breakfast, Ray and Holly went and got Mickey D's. We talked to Logan and James when we got home. Thankfully Ray's sister Tina stayed at the house with the boys. We ate, and talked....it is very theraputic for me. Holly left with her instructions of what to do for the party, Tina was a Saint and took the boys, and about 10:00am, I upheld my end of the bargin and went to bed. We slept until about 1:00pm, and got up to get ready for the party. (See He is 5!!!! Blog)
So in a nutshell, God made the decision for us on this pregnancy! And we are fine with it, it does hurt and we are greiving and handling this as a family as we should. Like I said talking is theraputic for me!!! I don't want you to be sad for us. I want you to celebrate the blessings we have, each other, our son, our health, and our faith in God.
Thanks to everyone who lended a hand, and prayer and a heart in this time of need for us!

He is 5!!!

He made it to 5!!

We had a great birhtday party for him on Saturday Feb 2, I will have some pictures posted soon. There are some pictures taken at Sears we did on his birthday!

He is such a little gentleman!! We are so very proud of him. He is an awesome little man.
His cousin James stayed the night with him before his party, and he got to spend some time that day with James and Jared.

Lots of friends were at his party, we had a ratattouie cake, it was so cool, he gots lots of presents, but most of he was surrounded by the love of all of his friends and family!!!

As we have learned over the past 5 years, it really does take a village to raise them, and we are very graetful for the village we have!!!!

Love all of you for always being there for us!!!

First Dr Appt

Well it went well!!!!

This is a new doctor, my first time to him...and he is great. on the appt he said I was 10 weeks 3 days....so since this is Saturday and that was Wednesday it makes me 10 weeks 6 days today....WOW that was rough to figure out.

Anyways, we were not able to hear the heart beat. So I have another appt on Friday Feb 15, if he can not pick it up them he will send me for a sonogram. But Logan will be with me for that appt so I have a great feeling we will get to hear it.

For anyone who did not know the issues I had with my first pregnancy, I had Pregnancy Induced Hypertension. So he has already put me on a Beta Blocker to hopefully keep my BP in check. We will have to see how this works. I have faith in the doctor and his treatment, and I will continue to pray we have a safe & helthy pregnancy.

I will keep you updated

It will never get here

It will NEVER get here!

So I have resoved myself to the fact....JAN 23 will NEVER get here!!!!!

I know it is only a doctor's appointment, and I have been through this before...blah blah blah....but I want to go, I want to get a definite due date. I want to hear the heart beat....and most of all I want Logan to KNOW he has a little sibling on the way. He is convenienced the baby will be called Tarzan or Dash.

Well another week...and I will know more.
