I have been away from the computer for so LONG!!!! Well not the computer but just blogging. I have had good intentions, but good intentions do not type this stuff for you.
I can not believe in 15 more days school will be on again. I feel kinda bad as we have not done anything majorly fun with Logan this summer. He has gotten to do all kinds of fun stuff, there was his week long vacation at the condo at Canyon Lake - Thanks Nana, Papa, Aunt Barbara, Uncle Jesse, and Jared, as well as all the other extended family that come up. He got to go swimming, play at the rec center, played miniature golf, and most importantly got a big bump on his head from a fight whit a skee-ball machine that he ultimately lost, then has stated claiming it 'took some of my memories away' (my little drama king). He has spent the entire summer at Nana's they have had some wonderful time together. He has spent time at Chele's house with her and her kiddos. He just loves them!
Then Saddle Ridge Ranch! Vacation Bible School at Shady Oaks Baptist Church. It was great. He was able to attend last year, but was a year too young for Music Camp. But this year - Katy Bar The Door!! They VBS was from 9-12 then music camp from 12-3, these kids had a long hard week. Not only did they learn all the finer things about Jesus & God, and the Cowboys, they learned the word, and movements for 7 songs! These were not easy either. We sang SRR song for a week, every time we were in the car. I even caught myself singing them on the train, and at work. The staff at Shady Oaks is AWESOME! They work so hard to make it right for these kids. They had record breaking numbers this year, the last night when they have the Family Dinner and the kids put on the skit, it felt like standing room only. Logan had so much fun, got to spend time with some great people, and be closer to God! Now he is looking forward to going away to church camp next year...big step for mom as well...but we will see. If he is grown enough, I am all for it.
We have been swimming at Aunt Tina's apartment at least once a week, she is usually our standing Thursday night date. With just a few more days until school starts, he is going to get to spend one day with Cousin Jared. Jared graduated this year, and is talking about the military. Logan will miss his so much, but it will be a great family vacation to take a stroll to where he will be at boot for graduation.
August came to quick, and came in with some sad news. On Wednesday Aug 4th, we lost Kota. She was our solid black German Shepherd, she was 8 yrs old. Little Sissy had a hard summer, she has always been down in her hips, and with age that does not get any better, she seemed to have lots more weight than usual this summer, and she was not a friend of the heat. Lots of things stacked against her. Logan was really sad, as we all were. The dogs, all except Shyanne, were here before we were blessed with him, so he really grew up with them. He knows that 'the ghost thing' (her spirit) left her body and is in Heaven with Dallas.
I am lucky that I will be off on Monday to spend an extra day with my boy, then on the 19th we will be hanging out all day. I have Jury Duty on the 20th, first time ever to be called. So we will see how it goes. The Friday before school starts, well I get picked or not??? The weekend before school starts we have a possible over-night event at TKD, a baby shower, and a birthday party. So the summer will end just as busy as it started. But then again that is what we do!!!
Some how I have spent about 45 minutes blogging, hopefully it won't bore anyone to death! Now I got to start getting ready for church. We are going to go visit Lamar Baptist Church today, it is close and we know some people who go there. They have a great kids program, and children's church. Keeping an open mind for what this will bring!
