Catching up

It has been a while since I have posted an informative blog... so here goes.

Well for my birthday I found out I was going to have a biopsy on my right breast. I kept it quiet from a lot of people, not because I was afraid, but because I was find with what ever the finding are going to be. I did not want to hear the people who have not been through it then decided they know exactly how I should be feeling. So the boobospy was scheduled for the week of spring break. The drama leading up to the procedure was more stressful than the procedure and wait time. I was sent to a place called Solis Women's Health care...I was not at all impressed with it. The first day I went I waited for 2 hours and due to the scheduling issue, so I had to go back on the following Tuesday...needless to say I was taking right in and did not have to wait.

Ok guys now if you are reading this, every time I mention something that was done to the 'girls' imagine it being done to your 'boys' and you will KNOW my pain!

So I go in, and put on the sexy shirt, that has strings but does not tie, because they are made for the perfect size 12. I get taken in to the ultrasound room to wait for the doctor. Now the weather was a little bad as it was raining that morning..well of course the doctor was not on time. My appointment was at 8:30, it was almost 9:00 before she got there. So we are starting the ultrasound, now this mass that was found was not in the breast tissue it was more so on the chest muscle, so she is looking in the tissue, I try to explain to her that she will need to go closer to the armpit...I DON'T HAVE A DEGREE SO I DON'T KNOW WHERE IT IS AT!!! Ok just to put something out there - I have had 2 radiologist, my reg doctor, and the surgeon do the exam and non of them could feel it. So it is not that big, and deep in the chest cavity. Anyways, she could not find it on the ultrasound off to another mammogram, for anyone who has had one, know they do them flat and then at a 45 degree angle, well I was also lucky enough to have one done at a 90 degree angle too...Now I don't have the most firm girls ever but if you recall the buzzard from the old cartoons, his beak is what my image looked like! No dice could not find it...so off the the table of terror. I walk into a room with a table about 8 foot long, and a hole in the middle of it...YEP the boob goes in there, and under the hole is a vice that squeezes the life out of it. After 8 pictures here they finally found it. So mark it and back to the mammogram room. The table of terror is where the boobospy took place. So it took them 2 hours to take pictures to find the little mass, the boobopsy only took about 40 minutes, and it all turned out OK. I went to the surgeon on Friday, and she does not see a reason to remove it now, so I will have another mammogram in about 6 months to monitor it. She did say I have fibroid breast disease, so the chance of them coming back or not...crazy human body!!

Thursday night the 25th was the Talent Show at Logan's school. Those kids ROCKED... I am going to try to get pictures put on this weekend. Logan sang If Tomorrow Never Comes by Garth Brooks. He wants to do something more upbeat next year.

So this lovely weekend we have been resting and cleaning. We have a birthday party today at Chuck E Cheese. Then some more rest. I bought some Whole Clove Garlic bread yesterday so I am thinking some bruchetta at some point today!

Spring Break 2010

So here it is the last weekend of Spring Break. I did take off Friday to take Logan to the zoo. It was GREAT! Sean a friend of our went with us, as did my SIL & Nephew. We rode the Trinity Rail Express (TRE) to Ft Worth, then hopped a bus to the zoo!

We got there about 9:20, the zoo did not open until 10:00, but with days of 20,000+ we decided getting there early would be best! They opened the gates about 9:40, so we got in early and it was nice. We were able to see all we wanted to see and were done and outta there back on a bus to downtown Ft Worth by 2:00. But the traffic and people we were seeing as we were leaving was INSANE. For anyone who knows the area, the field across from the Log Cabin Village was a parking lot...no seriously they had cars all the way over there. Once we got on I-30, it was backed up all the way to 35w. Really?? Come on people it is 2:00, the zoo closes at 5:00, and it will be 4:00 until you get to the University exit.

Any ways, we rode the TRE back to Hurst, it was great. The kids had a good time. I have pictures posted on Facebook. Come by take a look. I was allowed to take Ray's new camera...got some pretty good shots!

Dang Body Clock!!!

Yes....I LOVE my body clock!

Really I don't...I have been up since 3:45am, and it is Saturday, and I have not slept worth crap this week! Been really busy this week. Have a belt test today, and I should be resting!!! But instead I am catching up on Law & Order SVU & last years episodes of Glee!

Glee new season starts April 13th! I am really excited about that. Logan loves his music as he always has, and now he is totally into the Glee soundtrack - Yes I have both. His favorite songs are 'I Can't Fight This Feeling' & 'Gold Digger', he really likes 'Jump' too.

So the belt test today. Logan is going to be testing to move to level 2 as a purple belt, and Ray & I will be testing for our blue belts. We are all having so much fun, this is probably the greatest family thing we could have done. We have such a great time, and the stuff we are all learning is great.

If my calculations are right, he should be getting his black belt by the time he is 9! He is leaning toward joining the apprentice program, to work toward being on the leadership team and on to an instructor. He has been influenced by many of the senior belts at the school. Mr. Stevens has been a great mentor for Logan, and Logan really wants to be like him. Mr. Langford is great with Logan, he really works great with the kids. Both of these guys have a wonderful drive and determination to be the best at what they do, and that is wearing off on Logan and I love it, both of these guys started training at just a little younger of an age than Logan. So for me as a parent there is hope that he will stay here and see/feel the accomplishments he is capable of. Then there is Mr. & Mrs. Nguyen, they have been with Dr. Flury, for almost ....well lots of years. They are brother & sister, both teachers, and both great. They have been involved for their entire lives, and they want to see these other kids succeed as they have. I am so glad I found Dr. Flury's school, the staff, the parents and the other kids in that school remind me everyday how glad I am of the choices I have made for Logan.

Now back to what else is going on today...Lunch with some friends, I have not met her, she is a friend of Ray's past, and I am really excited about it. Then I think we will come home and rest some more. Hoping tomorrow is nice, so we can take the dogs to the park or something.
